Hate extra preservatives? Make your Own Pancake/Buiscut mix!

So here is a super simple recipe I got a long while ago and rocks the hizzie. This multipurpose baking mix is great for pancakes, waffles, biscuits, and scones! The best part....NO EXTRA PRESERVATIVE CRAP! Now I realize once you read this you're going to be thinking..holy poop..this yields allot of mix..the truth...not as much as you think.

6 cups flour ( I use 4 white and 2 wheat)
4 tbs baking powder
1 cup instant nonfat dry milk
1 tbs salt
1 cup vegetable shortening

Simply mix all your dry ingredients, and cut in your shortening until it is coarse and crumbly. Then place in self sealing bag and refrigerate (remember no preservatives so DO put in the fridge) for up to 6 weeks!!!!

buiscuts = 2 Cups Mix + 1/2 Cup Milk then mix until dough forms drop biscuits on cookie sheet. place in preheated 450 oven for 8-10 min.

Pancakes = 2 Cups Mix + 1 Egg + 1 1/4 Cup milk

Waffles = 2 C.ups Mix + 1 Egg + 2 tbs Melted Butter + 1 Cup milk

Scones = 2 Cups Mix + 1 1/2 tbs sugar + 2 Eggs + 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream +1 tsp vanilla extract. preheat oven to 425. Combine your mix and sugar in a medium bowl. then Mix your eggs, cream and vanilla in a small bowl. Then poor your wet mix into your dry and mix untill soft dough forms. Then place your dough on a floured surface and knead it 6-7 times. then with a floured rolling pin roll out to about 1/2 inch thickness and proceed to cut out your scones using a biscuit cutter (or a cup, or cookie cutter....etc) and place on cookie sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until golden. ( I like to put some extra cream and sugar brushed on top and feel free to fold in some chocolate chips or blueberries)
